WA is gradually being phased out, with new grants from 1 July 2005 only being made to women who were born before 1 July 1955. Widow allowees who claim payment from 20 September 2003 are required to attend a compulsory annual participation planning interview with a Centrelink Service Adviser and assisted to develop a participation plan to help them increase their economic and social participation.
