6 August 2007
The Attorney-General's Department and the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs today called for applications from organisations interested in running one of the next 25 Family Relationship Centres or a range of other services under the Family Relationship Services Program.
Funding is available to support these services for three years from July 2008.
The new 25 Family Relationship Centres will open in July 2008 and build on the achievements of the 40 Centres which commenced over the past two years.
Funding is also available for 22 Early Intervention Services, 14 Children's Contact Services and 14 Post Separation Cooperative Parenting services.
Competitive selection processes will be conducted by the Attorney-General's Department and Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs to select organisations to run one or more of the new services.
This is the third competitive selection round announced as part of the 2005-06 Budget family law reform package of $397 million over four years. The selection process will also entail part of the 2007-08 Budget package of $36.9 million over four years to help separated families and their children in regional Australia.
Applications close at 2.00 pm AEST, 2 October 2007. More information, including the selection criteria and applications forms, can be found at the Attorney-General's or FaHCSIA websites. Attached are the locations for the new services.
