1.1.T.80 24 hour care, 24 hour care period (CCB)

Definition: 24 hour care

For the purposes of CCB, 24 hour care is defined as when a child:

• does not return to the care of their parent or guardian for a 24 hour period, and
• is cared for by an approved service (1.1.A.90).

Definition: 24 hour care period

A 24 hour care period is any period of 24 consecutive hours or more, but less than 48 consecutive hours, of approved care. Each such period within one overall period of consecutive hours of care counts as one 24 hour period. A 24 hour period may commence at any time during the day or night.
