1.1.P.40 Parental income test (YA)

Definition

For the purposes of YA, the parental income test is a test which applies to all dependent YA recipients, UNLESS a parent (section 5(1)-'parent') of the young person:

  • is receiving (1.1.R.55) a pension, benefit or allowance, OR
  • is receiving a payment under Part 5 or Part 6 of the Farm Household Support Act 1992, OR
  • is receiving ABSTUDY (Living Allowance), OR
  • has a LIC, OR
  • is in an employment income nil rate period.
