1.1.S.45 School - enrolment, attendance, person responsible for operation of a school (SEAM)

These definitions apply for SEAM purposes ONLY.

 

Definition: enrolment

Enrolment at a school includes anything that is acceptable as an alternative to conventional schooling under the relevant state or territory law, for example, approved home schooling.

 

Definition: attendance

Attendance at a school includes attendance at a place that is acceptable as an alternative to conventional schooling under the relevant state or territory law, for example, approved home schooling.

 

Definition: person responsible for operation

A person responsible for the operation of a school means the school principal or a person within the management structure of the school OR a person who has responsibility within a relevant state or territory government department or non-government authority. It includes a person responsible for a place the child is attending as an alternative to a school, for example, the director of a traineeship provider.
