These rates are frozen rates from 1973. No more grants were made after 1985. This table shows the rates in dollars per fortnight (pf).

If a rate does not appear in this date range, the most recent earlier rate applies. These rates are indexed each September. This table shows the rates in dollars per fortnight (pf).

Notes

These notes relate to the DVA Rates - March 1991 to December 1991:

 

Service Pensions (section 23(1)-'service pension') are the same rate as Age Pensions.

Explanation

A

These rates are indexed each March and September.

B

These rates are indexed each September.

C

EDA payment was introduced on 1 December 1988. It is payable to extremely disabled veterans who:

  • - are receiving 100% Disability Pension,
  • - have reached retiring age,
  • - are not receiving an Intermediate or Special Rate Pension, and
  • - satisfy medical criteria.

The EDA is payable at 50% of the general rate and is treated as income (section 8(1)-'income') for social security purposes.

D

From 1 November 1986, Social Security Pension (section 23(1)-'social security pension') is payable subject to a ceiling of $120.10 a fortnight to recipients of WWP.

E

These rates are indexed each January.

F

Domestic allowance is now absorbed into the basic pension, but still shown separately by DVA.
