This topic covers reviews of a person in receipt of CA (adult) to determine their continued eligibility for payment. There are 2 forms of review:
The following table shows when reviews are set.
|
If the care receiver… |
Then… |
|
has a disability or medical condition that is: - permanent and not improving, AND - the care receiver achieves an ADAT score of 40 or more, |
a full review is not required, however, a circumstances review will be conducted by phone every 2 years to ensure that the person still provides care and attention on a daily basis to the same care receiver. |
|
has a disability or medical condition that is: - not permanent, OR - may improve, AND/OR - the care receiver achieves an ADAT score of less than 40, |
a full review, including a medical assessment using the ADAT must be conducted every 2 years to establish that the care receiver's care needs continue to qualify the person for payment and that they continue to provide care and attention on a daily basis to the care receiver. |
Where the care receiver also qualifies their carer for CP, both payments should be reviewed at the same time.
