The Office for Women
The Australian Government Office for Women has a number of roles. It:- administers programmes, including most significantly programmes to combat domestic violence and sexual assault
- advises on legislative issues relating to women
- provides the principal focus on consultation between the women's sector and government, and
- represents government at national and international forums on women's issues, such as the United Nations
