The Child Support Scheme ensures that children receive an adequate level of financial support from their parents following separation.
The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) is responsible for child support policy to enable effective delivery of the Scheme through the development, implementation and monitoring of child support policy.
The Child Support Agency (CSA) in the Department of Human Services administers the Scheme under child support legislation.
