The Aboriginals Benefit Account (ABA) has received an unprecedented number of grant applications submitted during the first two funding rounds of 2011.
To ensure all current proposals held by the ABA are fully considered, there will be no further calls for applications for the remainder of the 2011/12 period.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
ABA grants are awarded to projects which help improve the lives of Aboriginal people living in the Northern Territory. Funds can be used to support initiatives that promote economic development, small business, land and sea management, community enhancement, education and leadership.
Funding decisions will continue to be based on the advice of the ABA Advisory Committee, the merits of proposals, availability of funds and the benefits derived by Aboriginal Territorians.
The ABA will continue to be managed in a strategic and sustainable manner.
Announcements regarding the resumption of the application process will be made before 30 June 2012.
