Territory Alliance staff are planning a community barbeque in Morris Soak to be held later this month. The aim of the barbeque is to inform Morris Soak residents about the future construction projects happening in their community and to discuss safety concerns and other issues residents may have. Activities will be provided for children and community residents will be given the opportunity to meet staff from Territory Alliance.
Following this barbeque, Territory Alliance personnel will continue to meet regularly with Morris Soak householders to keep them abreast of construction activities. Territory Alliance staff are currently visiting houses to discuss road closure and traffic management during construction periods.
Entrance noticeboards have also been erected to inform residents and visitors travelling through of any safety concerns. These efforts to keep community residents informed and playing an active role in the changes happening in their community go some way towards achieving Territory Alliances objective of “working together safely”. The civil works in Morris Soak are expected to begin in November 2010.
