Indigenous Home Ownership – Issues Paper

Issues Paper

On 24 May 2010, the Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, Jenny Macklin MP announced the release of the Indigenous Home Ownership Issues Paper

This paper canvasses the issues affecting home ownership amongst Indigenous Australians across Australia, including those factors particular to Indigenous land ownership. It also outlines existing supports and services in place to assist with home ownership and raises questions to stimulate discussion on this important issue.

The aim is to seek input from the Australian Community, particularly Indigenous Australians, into the formulation of clear policy direction to support the growth and sustainability of Home Ownership amongst Indigenous Australians.
